 Our wines did well at the first significant Hungarian competition this year. The Syngenta Wine Competition has garnered significant recognition to date, including all 22 wine regions of the country.
Producers nominated 323 wines at the 9th edition of the Syngenta Wine Competition, held on March 11th of this year. Supporting the results of past years, white wines comprised the bulk of the nominees: 173 white wines, 101 red wines, 27 rosé wines, 15 Tokaj wines and 4 ice wines, as well as 3 sparkling wines (champagne) participated in the competition.
Based on the rules of the competition, judging occurred according to a 100 point system - the head of the professional panel of judges was Dr. László Vaszari, President of the National Council of Wine Villages. The award ceremony took place on March 18, where as a result of the competition 26 certificates, 104 bronze medals, 126 silver medals and 56 gold medals were awarded.
